Fallen Angel

FALLEN ANGEL
Rod had only one job and that was to keep the rest entertained when things were slow. It wasn’t his fault when he did this job things seemed to go wrong. He didn’t break the rules on purpose. It just happened. Take the time he was asked to the party and he dressed as a snake. It wasn’t thought of as evil till that time someone did something wrong and the snake started to be evil. Rod dressed up as the snake just to poke fun at it and he wasn’t to know it was now frowned on as been one of the lower orders the memo hadn’t reached them just yet. He was passing the fresh couple and the apple just slipped onto the floor. He picked it up thinking one of the two had dropped the apple and he found himself surrounded by the four upper level guardians. They took him out of the party to see the boss.
Rod had seen the boss when he first started and found him to be a nice guy who could sometimes turn a lit bit grumpy and smite people. It wasn’t that he wanted to it was just part of the job the boss told Rod. The duties were light for Rod but with every day new rules were been changed and been at the low end of the levels, it took days to reach those in the lowest working areas. Rod was sat behind the desk, which was uncomfortable as he was still in the snake outfit. The boss was facing away from him. He was looking at a large screen tutting. Rod didn’t like this as he could see that there was a scene where the  female was turning to salt.
“I hear you’ve been naughty,” The bosses voice boomed around the small room.
“In what way do you mean sir?” Rod asked wide eyed.
“You gave that young couple the apple,”
“Yes I did,”
“Did you not know that this wrong since the rules changed?”
“No. If they have it hasn’t reached the lower levels yet,”
“I am sorry to hear that. I will make a note and see if we can shift the notices quicker,”
The boss spun around so quick Rod felt it was magic.
“Oh I see you’ve a snake outfit on,”
“I was making fun of them,”
“Sorry. But this isn’t how it works around here. Take the outfit off and go down to where you work and sweep the floors for the rest of the day,”
Rod stood up to go.
“Oh by the way if this happens again I’ll be forced to send you out of the office for sometime,”
Rod walked out head hung low. He took the snake outfit off when he was well away from the boss and sent it down a cute for rubbish.
